0Shares

There are many options to choose when it comes to travel. You must choose destination, type of accommodations, transports, etc. And one of the basic things to choose is the way you travel, whether you take solo travel or group travel. However, it is not a must to choose between the two since you can still do both but maybe not simultaneously. But what to expect from solo travel and group travel?

Solo travel

What most travelers like about solo trip is that it feels deliberating. It gives you a sense of freedom so you can do whatever you want and like. You don’t have to be concerned about travel companions since every decision can be made by yourself. Also, you are in charge in everything, deciding what kind of travel you want to experience. You are in control to make plan and enjoy the trip your own way.

Solo travel allows you time for self-reflection. Sometimes, you need to be alone to be able to listen to yourself better. Through solo travel, you have less noise to distract you from getting to know yourself. You can learn many things throughout the trip that can help grow yourself to be a better version. It is such a valuable learning experience to have that is empowering, inspiring, motivating, and comforting.

However, there are also some downsides of travelling solo such as the potential of feeling lonely because you have to rely on yourself throughout the trip. Also, the cost can be expensive because you don’t have someone to share the expenses with. And the last concern is safety. Not many people are brave enough to go for solo travel due to safety concerns. Hence, it is highly recommended to choose relatively safe destination for your solo travel plan.

Group travel

Group travel brings in more fun and joy because you have travel companions to share everything with. You also have people who have your back, making you feel safe during the trip. You don’t have to ask stranger to watch your bags when you need to go to the toilet. You can also count on your travel buddies when you happen to short on money due to some reasons.

However, the downsides of group travel is the lack of personal space since you may have to even share bed and room. Also, you need to compromise most of the time because different people have different preferences and characters. You may experience less flexibility to do things you like when travelling in group.

Either solo travel or group travel, you can choose whatever you prefer. If you’s like to have some time alone then solo travel may be more suitable for you. If you want to build companionship or strengthen your relationship with others, bring your travel buddies with you for a group trip. regardless, both travel styles have their own merits and demerits you can consider yourself to choose which fits to your liking. Or, you can also set a plan to do both in different times.
