It is also one of the most common things to experience by travelers. Having caught a flu during your trip overseas can make you feel whole lot more miserable. It can affect your mood drastically. When you are at home, you have families and friends that can tend to you especially when you are sick. During the trip though, you have to fend for yourself. When you are get sick, seek medical professional immediately because you don’t know whether you catch mild diseases or life-threatening ones. If you have particular health condition, make sure to pack your medication even when you are travelling.

Nasty accommodation

You might have booked a hotel with great reviews and ratings. However, you found out that the accommodations was far from what you knew online. Stained-covered bed, nasty bathroom, poor amenities, etc can truly ruin your mood to have a great trip. Before turning your heels and finding another hotel, it is better to communicate the issue with the staff or travel agent you have booked. Make sure to know your right for the accommodation. You still have a chance to get assisted to find another room, hotel, or get a refund.

Language barriers and unfriendly locals

In every website, they tell you that the people in your travel destinations are friendly and welcoming even though they don’t speak English. However, it is not always the case in reality. Sometimes, language barriers can be your big problem during travel especially when the locals don’t speak English at all. It is even worse when they are not welcoming to foreign visitors. To avoid this problem, you can always prepare yourself by learning the local language even for simple phrases. Or, you can also hire local guides to help you interact with the locals and learn more about the culture.
