Thinking That Bali Tattoo Prices is Expensive? This is Why

Bali Tattoo Prices is Determined by the Artist

Tattoo is not about demand and supply. Getting a tattoo is essentially buying the skill of the artist and trusting your skin on their hands. Just like barbershops and spa, many tattoo artists in Bali sets their own rules and standards of their service, and pricing their work based on what they can provide. You might find that in service industry, better jobs and quality tend to worth more. The more skilled an artist is, the higher their price tends to be. Experience of the artist also determine their price. An apprentice/ beginner artist with 1-3 experience could cost half of established or teaching artist with 10years+ experience. Meanwhile, popular artists that won competitions and featured on medias could set the price whatever they want. So come prepared that with quality, come the price.

Location of the Tattoo

Walk into any tattoo parlour in Bali and you’ll find a range of different Bali tattoo prices for different part of the body. Tattoo studios could charge 10% – 25% higher price for difficult and challenging areas. This include the neck, face, elbow, and feet.

Size of the Tattoo

The bigger the tattoo, the more expensive it would be. Size of the tattoo also closely related to the hours spent to work on the piece.

Colour of the Tattoo

Black and grey tattoo would always cost less than coloured tattoo. The more colourful your tattoo is, the longer it takes to finish and the more complicated it is to work on. Good colours are hard to do well. Especially if you are expecting smooth color transition such as watercolour tattoo, which could cost USD $400 for a simple four inches tattoo.

Complicated Details

They said the devil is on the details and that’s the quality you want to pay for. Intricate details and complexity of the designs means more works, long hours, and multiple session to finish the piece. It absolutely affect the Bali ink price you are going to pay.

Good Quality Tattooing Tools Means Higher Bali Tattoo Price

Don’t think that you are paying just for the artist’s work. Think about the tools and the inks  to make the tattoo itself. This is another expenses incurred by the artist that you need to pay, too. Remember that every personal tools that made to you is disposable. That means you need to pay the inks, needles, inkwells, wipes, sprays and lotions. Good tools maintenance also means more cost, but it’s totally worth the health risks.
