How to Get to Ericeira, Portugal

To get to Ericeira, you need to fly to Lisbon, the closest city (with airports) to Ericeira. Check out your Sky Scanners or similar application to fund the best routes and deals. If you are coming from Europe, you can almost always book a direct flight to Lisbon. Alternatively, you can book a flight to Faro in south Portugal or Porto in the north. Both of these airport are three hours away from the Ericeira. 

A Private Transfer from Lisbon to Surf School in Ericeira

One of the quickest way to get to your surf school in Ericeira is by hiring a private transfer. This will get you straight from the airport to the doorstep of your surf school. It’s simple and hassle free, though quite pricy. You can book it at the airport. The private transfer usually cost around €60 for 4 people or €75 for up to 8 people. Some offers €15 per person for one way destination. You can try asking the surf school to help you with the transfer booking. Most of them will gladly help you—or at least giving a clear advice to follow. 

Getting to Ericeira by Metro and Bus

If you opt for a public transportation to Ericeira, you can choose the Metro. It’s convenient and a lot cheaper than private transfer. From the Lisbon airport, head to the underground Metro and hop your way. Exit at Campo Grande—you are now in Lisbon city centre. You will find a bus terminal where you can have connection to Ericeira. The buses run every 90 minutes from 8am to 11pm. The journey by bus from Campo Grande to Ericeira takes about 75 minutes which cost as little as €7. Exit on bus terminal and you can continue the journey by walking. Some surf school Ericeira provides a transfer pick up from the bus terminal only for €2 – €5. Either way, the Ericeira is a small town and you rarely need car to get into places!

The 45 minutes drive from the airport to Ericeira will be full of new colours, old building, and a whole new experience that only a road trip could offer. You can find big car hire companies at the airport. However, it can quickly sold during the peak season, which fall during July to August.
