One of the best site to visit during your night diving in Amed Bali is the wreck. The renowned USAT Liberty might looks so majestic during the day already. Seeing it at night, however, is like having halloween underwater. The darkness of the night veil this monumental wreck in mystery. The eerie feeling is so thick upon coming close to the wreck. Yet inside the wreck, lots of life is happening. The moray eels are out hunting, the colourful corals and sponges shimmers under the light of the torch, and the resident school fish is out and about swimming across the ship’s corridor. The night is also the only time to see the elusive Spanish dancer at the wreck. Down beneath the corals that blooms in the steels, the octopus, crabs, and shrimps are making their way out for their evening meals. Behind the seemingly ghostly wreck, the ocean are coming to life! 

Only Dive with A Divemaster 

Never do night diving alone, especially if you have never dive in Amed Bali before. You will need the guidance from a local divemaster who knows the site very well. Having a divemaster as your dive buddy and guide give you great mental support and keep the safety of each other during the dive.

You don’t have to wait until the nightfall to start the night dive. In fact, the best time to have night diving adventure in Amed Bali is during the twilight. Prepare your gears by 6 pm and enter the water by 6.30 pm, just when the sun is ready to set. This way you are giving enough time for your eyes to adjust to the darkness under the water.

Diving without a clear plan during the day could be risky enough. Jumping into a wild night dive without proper plan is a recipe for disaster. The risks in diving is increased during the night while navigation could be a little harder than usual. During a night dive, you want to have minimal bottom time and that means keeping your depth shallow and your time short. 

Prep Up Your Buoyancy 

Your sense of direction during the night dive won’t be as good as it is during the day. It’s more difficult to navigate and estimate the depth in almost complete darkness. That’s why you need to make sure that you have perfect buoyancy before you go for a night diving, whether in Amed and in anywhere else.
