Its unbelievable landscape covers exotic jagged hills, four crooked beaches, and unending azure sea enveloping the surrounding island. When you get to the top viewpoint, you will see beautiful shades of brown and blue dominate everything in the horizon. The Padar Island is totally picture perfect and the steep hike worth every single drop of sweat.
However, most people only spend one hour in average in this wonderland. Most tourist only come for hiking to the viewpoint, taking some amazing photos, and leave. But you can do so much in Padar than the standard “hike-selfie-go” itinerary. Below, we have five awesome ideas to do in Padar island.
Hiking for Otherworldly Sunrise in Padar Island
Padar is actually one of the best spot for sunrise in the entire Komodo. The sun rise in Padar around 5.36 AM (according to Google), so you have plenty of time for preparation and hike. If you mention it to the boat tour, they will likely to depart from 2 or 3 AM from the anchor point and wake you up at 4 AM. The hike itself takes about 30 minutes—it’s steep and kinda dangerous in the dark, so make sure you bring a flashlight or headlamp. Get to the top, find a comfortable spot to watch the sunrise, and prepare for a view out of this world. You will see the surrounding island slowly get unfold from the darkness while the first rays of the sun cast a reddish glow to the hills. Enjoy the tranquility of the morning as the sky changes colour.
Stay for Lunch in the Deserted Beaches
Some luxurious Komodo tours love to arrange lunch on one of the deserted beach and honestly that’s one of the best thing. Why don’t you take the idea and have one in Padar Island? This is very applicable especially if you come for a hike around the afternoon. Find one quiet nook in one of the beach, prep the tables and umbrellas, and have a fabulous lunch for your adventure time. Don’t forget to clean up the beach once you’ve done with the lunch! Remember to leave the place cleaner than when you come.
Bring A Hammock Tent for A Chilling Afternoon
If you arrange a private tour in Komodo and have all the time for yourself, you can try hammocking. We don’t know why haven’t anybody try this awesome idea yet. Look, the Padar Island is totally deserted and there’s nothing better to do to enjoy the peace of the island than lying leisurely in a hammock. Just imagine; you lounging in your favourite hammock, with a cold drink from the boat, just staring at the endless turquoise sea. Just remember that Padar lacks of tree, so you would want to bring your own hammock suspension, too.

The entire surrounding is blushing—and suddenly you’ll feel like getting back in time when the world was way simpler.
