If you’ve experienced Komodo tour with a liveaboard or a resort before and felt satisfied of what the destination managed to offer, that doesn’t mean you’ve experienced all of Flores. We’ve visited this fascinating destination again and again and we always come with a new story when we come back.

One of the most delightful experiences that you need to experience while traveling anywhere is connecting with the locals. You haven’t traveled the place before you actually talk to the inhabitants of the place. And just like the rest of Indonesia, the Flores locals are generally very warm and welcoming towards tourists. As long as you make an effort to talk to them first and put in the effort to speak a few Bahasa, they’re likely going like you in an instant. It’s no different in Komodo island trip and staying with a local is certainly a more enriching experience compared to staying on hotels or resorts.

Visit Koka Beach Flores

The Koka Beach is one of the most fascinating beaches that you can find in Flores during your Komodo tour Indonesia. It’s certainly not in most liveaboard destinations (unless of course you charter a boat privately to yourself and tailor the itinerary to your interests). What, or rather who, you’re going to find here are locals instead of foreigners. During the weekends some locals would take their family here. Other than that during the weekdays you’re going to be able to feel as if you have the beach to yourself.

Located in Wolowiro village, Sikka Regency, this beach is located right between two hills that created the feel of a protected hidden beach. The name of the hills are Rodja, located on the west of the beach, while Ndate hill is on the east side. There’s a cave known as Lia Wio that can be accessed only when the ocean recedes.

Bandages for Blisters

If you often suffer from blisters when wearing shoes, you need to find the right solution especially when you are planning to travel. Most people carry around bandages when travelling for their uncomfortable shoes. However, you can find better solution by using adhesive moleskin on the problem area of your shoes directly. Moleskin itself is soft and made from neutral-colored materials often used in comfortable shoes. You can buy them as an adhesive to use anywhere and anytime you need your shoes to be more comfortable to wear. You can choose the one in bandage form or peel-and-stick moleskin padding form. The later is more comfortable because it can go straight to the inside of your shoes.
